The words of singer/songwriter/minister Scott Abbott reflect the spirit of worship that has pervaded concerts and gatherings where he has ministered for the past 18 years. People are drawn into an attitude of reflection and contemplation as Scott guides his audiences toward an honest response to the presence of God in their lives. Scott's smooth vocal style, coupled with lyrics that stress simple unembellished truths, make him a favorite with audiences of all ages. A dynamic, humorous speaker, Scott uses music and word to convey his trust and faith in the sovereignty of God, and to lead people to a deeper understanding of His wisdom in, and for their lives.

   Scott is an ordained minister, the son of pastor/missionary parents. Born with muscular dystrophy, Scott's family played a vital role in encouraging him to lead an ordinary life and to channel his sensitivity and dependence on God into developing his best gifts - those pertaining to music. The muscular dystrophy is not a hindrance to his ministry, rather, it enhances his ability to reach a level of understanding with audiences that is unfamiliar to many speakers. He shares, through his personal experience of living with a physical disability, that to trust in the Lord is not only the best way to live our lives, it is the only way no matter what our circumstance. That Christ is our strength, hope and future.

   Today Scott Abbott sings with a music that emphasizes the uncompromised Word of God, reaching people at their point of need. Scott sums it up best in the lyrics of his song, "I Will Cling to a Sovereign God":
